Sheffcare Creative Life Story Work Training

Off to a great start!

We began our training yesterday with a jam packed session looking at music, reminiscence, spiritual well being, inter-generational activities and creativity. Here are a few pictures from the day capturing some special moments!

A big thanks to Kathryn Lord for her sand presentation and for the lovely reading of Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge by the delightful Scot, Helen Coates. Helen runs Oaks and Acorns, a group which organises toddlers to visit care homes in Sheffield.

We identified the benefits of inter-generational work as laughter and fun; light bulb moments; family history connections; pre-verbal magic; present moment engagement; one2one attention; building relationships and a combat to ageism.
